Photograph taken for a story in the Oklahoma City Times newspaper. Caption: "Careening Car Caves In City Filling Station: A woman motorist narrowly escaped injury at noon Friday when her auto collided with another car, went out of control and crashed into a service station at 4006 NW 10. A gasoline pump was knocked 25 feet, and one corner of the roof over the station driveway crashed down on the hood of the woman,s car. The driver, Mrs. R. E. Winkler, 1015 Warren, was "shaken up" but uninjured. Officer R. D. Brokaw said the car crashed into the service station after colliding with an auto driven by W. D. Tanner, 36, of 1528 NE Meyers place. R. W. Smith, owner of the station, said, "I saw that car heading for the station and I went out the back door. It's lucky no one was in the driveway at the time." Part of the front wall section of the one-story brick station building cracked, and damage was estimated at $1,500. There was slight damage to the left front of Tanner's car, and heavier damage to Mrs. Winkler's auto. Mrs. R. E. Winkler, 1015 Warren, narrowly escaped injury Friday when her car crashed into a service station. The corner of the roof crashed down on the hood of the car."
