Dead is: CLAUDET. DAVIDSON, 69. Highway Patrolman Bill Smith, who investigated the crash, said the car Davidson was driving was headed east in the westbound lane of I-244 when it collided with the westbound police car driven by Officer Billy W. Scullawl, 26, of Catoosa. Davidson was dead on arrival at a Tulsa hospital with multiple injuries. Scullawl was taken to Hillcrest Medical Center where he underwent surgery for a crushed chest and collapsed lung. Witnesses said Davidson entered a Crosstown Expressway exit headed in the wrong direction and appeared confused, but continued. They said the patrol car was behind a large truck and the sun appeared to be shining into the policeman's eyes. One witness said the police car was struck after it pulled into another lane to pass the truck."
