home economics deals with changes in attitudes, appreci'ations ld
values which delve deeper than mere mastery of skills. One learns
by doiin, but attitudes and values develop as individuals, mature.
These several outcomes enable families to function successf ly.
We believe th-t it is the duty of the home ecofomics
department to take students where we find them and provide learning

service us to reach iiore people in the community, state and nation.
In addition to the teaching program in the university, service should
be extended to hnemukers, to those with special needs; -l o to the
aging and dropouts, to the extent that personnel, time and loads,
munds and facilities permit.
