Abstract: Oklahoma is a national leader in the development of small watershed dams. Before the construction of these dams began in 1948, destructive floods were common across the state. D. Chongo Mundende describes how the development of flood control structures in Oklahoma has positively impacted the citizens of Oklahoma.
