The fourth person injured was driver of the other car, 73 -year -old Ernest Gardner Swain, of 3134 NW 24, who suffered head injuries. Officer C.S. McLaughlin said the accident occurred when one car apparently failed to yield the right of way. The impact sent one auto careening into a telephone pole. The other spun out of control. It stopped facing in the opposite direction. The Floyd auto was traveling north on Lindsay, the Swain car west on NE 28. Officers said Swain would be given a citation for failure to yield the right of way. The Kemp baby apparently received head injuries when she was flung headlong into the dashboard. She suffered deep cuts about the head and face. Brain and plastic surgeons were called in by Mercy Hospital attendants."
