A GOOD COTTON DEAL
At the opening of the cotton
pickingseason when cotton and
cotton seed were not worth the
ginning the Bank of Rand lett
made a proposition I to farmsrs
who owed notes that they would
accept their cotton in payment
of their notes and hold it for sale
until such time as reasonable
prices prevailed Many farmers
deposited their cotton in the
bank's large warehouseand last
Saturday the last bale of this
cotton was placed on the pars
and broughtI7 3-4' 8 and 8 14
cents It was all number one
two and three cotton with the
exceptions of twelve bales This
cotton was placed in the waye
house when cotton was selling at
585 to 6 cents: it cost $100 per
bale to hold it and sold for 8 cts
It is nothing but' fair that the
farmers should remember the
Bank which helped them when
they needed it and when selling
their produce at the railroad and
depositing their money in other
banks and no doubt they will
