any one else is attributed the fact
that during his term of office that

NOTICE
ie Vofer3 of Dewey Omuty
was so universally loved and re-
spected ) v
A favorite quotation and one
often repeated by him seemed to
be his standard
“Solive that when thy sumjnons
comes to join the innumerable
caravan that moves to the pale
realms of shade where each shal
take his chamber in the silent
hallsof Death
Tlfou go not like a quarry slave
afiiight scourged to his 'dungeon
But sustained und soothed by an
unfaltering trust approach thy
grave like one who wraps the
draperies of couch about him unc
lies down to pleasant dreams”
geniu&JWhat wonderful things has
this great ‘I atn done- except to
attend the republican conventions
and ret there as meek a a mouse?
One thing ho has done is to figh
tho1 adoption of the constitution
in his newspaper hut did not hav
the manhood to answer a singleque
tion put to him by the democratic
press when they asiccd him to state
u'single clause that was wrong
Now gentleman) as you are pro
bably honest in this belief tha
your candidate is the simon pure
boiled down extract of all that is
good and great and us we believe
the people ought' to know the
truth of this matter Me ask
you to pi’oduce your evidence
to show that this man Smith is the
be?t man for the place That the
people may know thee two men
that they alone may judge of their
fitness and qualifications We
ask you to let' Mr Smith moot
Mr Jones and that they enter in
to a joint discu-ion on the issues
before the pei pie at as many
places nnd as often as you like
Dates and rules to be arranged
by the Democratic and republican
central committees We believe
we hae the best man for the place
We believe he is the best q mini-
fied and better' fitted man
to represent the people of Dewey
County than his opponent and we
believe the people have a right to
know it Let the people see them
together let them hear them and
let them decide this question You
have made your brags now make
them good
