Nurse Reported In Good
Condition, D.A. Awaits Tests
Aleata Beach moved out of intensive care on Sunday. Her condition is
rated as good.
Beach has been in St. Anthony’s Hospital in Oklahoma City for one and
one-half weeks for treatment of self-inflicted wounds. Beach, a registered
nurse employed by Grady Memorial Hospital, allegedly attempted suicide
while chi duty at the hospital.
According to reports, Beach might in some way be involved in the deaths
of four patients at the hospital.
Samples have been taken of all four possible victims. The District
Attorney is now waiting for lab results from the State Medical Examiner’s
office. According to assistant district attorney, Richard Vandyck, this
could take up to six weeks. ______

Neighbor!
by Marshall Settle .
"It's raining all over the world!"
On Monday (Labor Day) of this
week, as we relaxed and listened to
the rain falling gently onto the roof
of our screened patio, into our
consciousness came those words
which we believe are lyrics from a
once popular song.
With eyes closed, it was easy to
transport back in time to a Sunday
morning on our farm home near
Washita, where the Settle kids
attended school during the early
days of World War II.
It was easy to remember, how on
that Sunday in the early 1940's, the
rain fell intermittently throughout
the day. It was not hard to
understand, why we must have
believed that the rain was indeed
"falling all over the world."
And perhaps at that moment in
time it was!
It was harvest time and we recall
our cotton field wagon parked not
more than a hundred yards from
the house. Part of that Sunday was
spent reading and listening to the
gentle falling rain from under the
tarp that covered the cotton wagon.
