McGinnis stayed at his place of business to establish an alibi.?no stayed in the small light ?ck in which the gang rode to Brink's because of a "certain physical condition." One Tabbed as Signalman ? Costa played the role of signalman by using a flash light from a nearby rooftop looking down on the Brink's office window. Others Byrne said took part in the robbery were: Stanley Gusciora, 36 and Joseph Banfield, 45 both now dead-and Joseph J. ?pecs) O'Keefe, 47, who has pleaded guilty. O'keefe is due as star prosecution witness later the trial. Byrne told the jury that after the robbery the gang drove directly to Maffie's house. The district attorney's story continued: "Costa first went away but came back and got $20,000 for himself and $20,000 for his brother-in-law, Pino. Richardson took $20,000 immediately and disappeared to establish an alibi. . .Baker said 'let's not keep it all in one place.' He took $380,000." Cash Believed Destroyed The gang, Byrne said, decided not keep any new money. There was $100,000 of it. McGinnis was given the job of destroying it, the prosecutor said. O'Keefe and Gusciora took $100,000, Byrne said. Both were arrested later in Pennsylvania on another charge. "When O'Keefe was picked up," Byrne went on, he got word out to McGinnis as to where the money was concealed and McGinnis got the money for."
