Beginning this month you'll be hearing those words when you need help in placing calls
within the (405) service area.
And for the first time in a while, you'll be hearing them from a genuine Southwestern Bell
Telephone operator.
We've always provided directory assistance for you. But now we’re doing more to serve you.
We're back in the business of providing full operator services for calls within your area.
Sometimes you just need help from an operator.
If your call is within your service area (check the Tele-Help guide of your phone directory to
make sure), and you need a Southwestern Bell Telephone operator. Dial:
"0"
But if your call's destination is outside your service area(example: Oklahoma City toTulsa),
then you must contact your long-distance telephone company for help. Dial:
“00”
If you need further help for calls placed outside your service area, please contact your long
distance telephone company's business office.
The way you place direct-dialed calls hasn't changed.
Neither has the kind of service you've expected from Southwestern Bell Telephone. We're
happy to be back in the full service operator business.
