Hobart Editor ought to have the
good sense to subside and sup-
port their choice—or quit claim-
ing to be democratic.
From some of the quixotic
editorials of the Pointer here of
late, one cannot help a sly feel-
ing'that the Tucker outfit have
been following in the footsteps
of their illustrious ancestor,
Daniel.
The Pointer claims to be
democratic. If tho men they are
fighting are nominated will they
support them or not? Their
answer would make a republican
smile.
OUR NAME IS AT THE MASTHEAD.
In tho Pointer of Thursday
and yesterday tho republican I
lads cling to their training and j
life-time policy of never telling!
the truth when a lie will answer!
as well, by trying to place the j
responsibility of the Chief's edi-
torials upon Mr. Howe. That
gentleman is not nor has not
been connected with the Chief
in any capacity except as report-
er and solicitor, which position
he fills to the entire satisfaction
of all concerned. This is merely
an instance of republicans seiz-
ing any kind of opportunity to
misrepresent and malign demo-
crats.
