FLAG DAY.
This day of June is the anni-
versery of the adoption of the
national flag. Flag day has
been modestly cS.ebratt d in Ho-

display on the part of some pa-

If ever a flag should be revered
even worshiped, that flag is the
stars and stripes. Most all of

Last night at the Baptist
church, was held their annual
childrens day exercises. This
day is observed bv the Baptists
all over the oountry, and a col-
lection is taken for the purpose
of enabling the Baptist Publica-
tion Society to distribute Bibles
and free literature to those not
able to buy. Also to assist in
defraying the expenses of keep-
ing their chapal cars and col-
portage wagons at work. A
splendid programe had been ar-
ranged and was carried out.
The ladies in charge of the affair
deserve great credit for the man-
ner in which the little ones re-
sponded, and rendered their re-
spective parts.
fhe ribbon drill by eight little
girls, an emblematic piece (Song
of the Heart) by several young
ladies deserves special mention.
A collection was taken and the
amount reoeived was very satis-
factory.
The congregation was one of
the largest ever assembled in
Hobart as there was a great
many that was foroed to stand.
The singing and entire program
was well received by all, and the
pastor with those who so ably
assisted him have just cause to
be proud of theohildrens day ex-
ercises held at the First Baptist
church in Hobart Sunday night
