HIGH SCHOOL NOTES
Okemah succeeded in getting the
Okfuskee literary contest and now
its up to us to- show the people
that there’s good in getting it here
We wish to thann those who
subscribed so liberally to the med-

the medals will go to Okemah con-
testents ' ' ’
Keep your eye on the schobl

contain Borne good hat thoughts)

ed now and then but you will feel
better when you get over it
The next and last number of the
Lyceum course will be given March

and perhaps a more popular num-
ber than the last It is composed
of four young ladies who read sirtg
and play It is a singing orchestra

Reformers are always guilty guil-
ty of telling unpleasant truths buti

The man who is hotly denounced
is usually of the best quality j
Some school boards do not wish
to have at the head of the school
a single man n6r a married man
what they want perhaps is a
“dead ’un” or a puppet
Every one who is doing any-
thing in the world - beyond the
deadly common place is making
enemies Our enemies are peon’e
who do not understand us also
they are pdople whom we mov
anf this they resent also they

or i part of it
V So much more money for medals
etc was raised Saturday than was
expected that through the gen-
erosity of the subscribers the fund
will go to further the interest in
athletics in Okfuskee county The
business men of Okemah are cer-
tainly to be admired for their lib-
eral donations 1
A joke is an affair that works
very well when tried on you but
it isn’t safe to try a Joke on some-

Two people having an equal
amount of power and executive

Any man who moves people is
going to be tongue-lashed and ink
splattered
The senior class of last year has
on hand a nice fund thnt they
will use for library purposes if a
like amount is added to it from
any 'other soiirce
