them sufficient scare for good speed

Tba Republican county central
committee at its meeting In tbls city
last Thursday afternoon employed
J G Potter to bring contest suits
against all Democratic couotv officer
fxcept Judge T T Doyle Probate
Judge
Mr Potter has been wo king oi hi
suits and will file a oart of them this
week The first suit to be filed will
be either that of Miss May Rose
against J D Nelson the County
Superintendent of Public Schools or
Wn Ball against Wra N McCulley
Sheriff
A short time ago Miss Rose gave
out a statement that she was through
with the fight for tbe office and
would not have it as a gift
It may be that tbe Miss Rose case
will be sidetracked for that of Mr
Ball as he was one of tbe contestants
that thought defeat Impossible and
Is chafflng considerable although bis
defeat was made doubly sore by the
attempt of tbe Republican leaders to
elect tbeir whole ticket methods not
considered
Current ratLors come to us that the
Republicans hope to gain only three
county officers in the contest— that of
Superintendent Sheriff aod S'a’es
Attorney even though they get Van
Zandt counted
The Republicans are hesitating to
decide In what court tley sha’l file
tbeir contests Tho old partisan
federal courts are a thing of tbe past
aod they look with longing ejea at Its
retreat and say wedont give a d— m
about justice we want to beat the
other fellow
In the county court and tbe dis-
trict court as well as tbe State Su-
preme court they object to filing the
suit because they are Democratic
If left to the attorneys of the district
a Democratic Judge will be selected
b7 them and the contestants are
afraid
We predict they can get justice In
any ooe of these courts if that la what
they are looking for
