Vies Is Mscomlng Less Privllsgsd In
All Parts if the Country
Tha war waged oa gambling in
many other cities is a sign of tha
times sad a mighty chseriag one
Thera are a few misguided folks
who Insist that a city can only prosper
with the "lid off" that visitors to a
great city naturally expect to And a
good deal of relaxation and that they
seek tke place where there is tha
greatest opportunity for a "good
time" That is nonsense It to also
a reflection on humanity
Why should th opportunity for
Stranger to lose bis money be con-
sidered a municipal asset? The truth
of tho matter to that from one and of
tha country to tho other vice is be-
coming all the time lees privileged
Those who are wise do not expect per-
fection They reallie that where peo-
ple are herded together there to bound
to be soma immorality and they do
not expect or demand blus taws or
puritanical methods
But they do expect the enforcement
of sene tows the punishment of
those who do wrong and an far as
to possible-tho betterment of man-
kind The offlctol who to strong enough
and courageous enough to do his duty
finds more backing from tha public
then he ever had before and there to
less msndlln sympathy for those who
disobey the tows than there has been
heretofore
la New York there to almoet con-
stant warfare on vice The foul thlnn
that contaminated the police force
and made a great city noted for sin
has been compelled to light tor its
very existence for years and the fight
gains strength ns it progresses The
crooks and gamblers end bribers have
suffered while the great city has
grown greeter and prospered more

Weight of a Dinner
It has been seriously asserted by
many people that we are naturally
lighter after a meal and they have
even gone the length of explaining
this by the amoupdt of gas that Is
developed from the blood Average
observations however show that we
loss 3 pounds 6 ounces between night
and morning that we gain 1 pound 13
ounces by breakfast that we again
lose about 14 ounces before lunch
that lunch puts on an average of 1
pound that we again lose during the
afternoon an average of 10 ounces
but that an ordinary dinner to healthy
persons adds 8 pounds 3 ounces to
their weight

It Is a subject of remark that the great

agreed with him perfectly
After the second day he began fo
sleep peacefully at night different
than he had for years The perfect di-
gestion of the food quieted his nerv-

He says: “The next morning I was
astonished to find my condition of con-

“A friend of mine has been entirely
cured of s bad case of Indigestion and
stomach trouble by using Grape-Nuts
Food and cream alone for breakfast
