The Form Divine.
8overal country editors of my ic-
qtialmancc are IndulRing a criticism of
woman anil the way Rho draws her
dress about her form divine when she
walks. They are divided against them-
selves. Somo of them think It Is vul-
gar for a woman to show the lines of
her form by her swathing, while oth-
ers profess to like It and pronounce
the fashion not only au fait, but mod-
est.
In the little old town far away"
small boys, dressed in u bland smile
aud a bold defl, daily bathed In the
brook, to the perturbation of an old
maid who lived hard by and whoso
finer sensibilities were rudely
shocked. She complained to the 10-
llce, and the boys were routed to a
place farther up stream. Again she
complained.
'Madam," expostulated the town
marshal, "you cannot possibly see
these boys from your library window."
"Indeed I can." piped the maiden
lady, In unconcealed anger. "I use
this telescope!"
\\ e fear some of those editors aro
seeing the human form divine through
the old maid's telescope.

"BHOOTINO THE KAPIDS."
Babcock's Olive Dish.
The last newspaper form had fallen
Into the jaws of the great perfecting
press, when Babcoek left the office
with an Idle hour in prospect.
Down in Madison street he passed
an auction Joint. Brlni; a student of
sociology, the newspaper man entered.
Inside there was an appearance of
what a slanglst might term "easy
money," with no "cavil on the ninth
part of a hair." as Shakespeare puts It.
After "our hero" had seen a ruthless
slaughter of be-sllvered aud be-ebnnied
toilet articles aud other boudoir bric-
a-brac, he opened his arms to oppor-
tunity and bid 25 cents on "a pretty,
dainty, prismatic, cut glass olive ulsh."
"And sold!" snapped the crier so
promptly that Babcoek blinked his
way to a realization of his purchase
through a chaparral of maze!
"Gentleman right over there." added
the auctioneer to the cash boy.
Babcock handed a $2 bill .o tun be.
am. took one hasty look at lils pur
chase.
"Pressed glass!" he commented in-
audibly, "marked down from 13 cents
on any bargain counter in the city!"
And he snickered at the thought of
a city newspaper man being a sucker
In his own balM-wlck.
"Beware of the man who offers you
something for almost nothing!" had
been his motto always, but now
"Here's yer change, mister," Inter-
rupted the boy.
Babcock reached and clasped !tJ
What was that? Yes, $2.25!
"Thanks!" he said (mentallyI and
with the olive dish under his arm he
walked away whistling, the dish and
2n cents "to the good,"
When ho reached home he sealed
the bargain by kissing his wife and
telling her, sub rosa, that not even a
city auctioneer can get the better of
a dyed In-thc-woul newspaper Bohe-
mian.

Peter Cooper had flfty-five years of
domestic happiness and morning tire-
building. Mr. Cooper was an ingenious
man. When a cradle became neces-
sary in his home, as was sometimes
the case years ago. Peter rigged a self-
rockln* table, with a fan attachment.
Afterward he patented tne device and
sold the patent. There were many op-
portunities "In those days!"

So Mr. Plane-
man's experience bure this out.
Continuing, he says: "I aid not
know the cause of the trouble but
I am led to believe now that it whs
first brought about by Jumping In and
out of the wagon and in sonie way 1
may have strained my back.
"I was constantly growing worse," he
continues, "and I became very muih
alarmed about my condition. I knew
that something hail to bi- done or serious
results were sure to follow. I went to
a specialist here In Sherman, and und< r-
went a rigid examination."
Then he relates how the doctor toll!
him that It was a serious case, but th t
he could cure him for fifty dollars.

However, necessity knows no law nnd
Mr. Plangman paid half down and took
the treatment and followed It faithful-
ly for four weeks.
Naturally, he thought that he would
soon be rid of the trouble, but In f-pite
of the doctoring he goes on to add. "I
was In such misery that It was almost
Impossible for me to do my work."
"it was at this Juncture that lean's

the drug store of C.
K. Craycroft. I
used these pills
ui cording to direc-
tions and to my
surprise I was con-
siderably relieved

This Is the uni-
versal experience of
those who have
been sufferers from _
Kidney trouble and who have been for-
tunate enough to test the merits of
Do.in's Kidney Pills.
There Is nothing wonderful or mag-
leal about this r. medy, it simply does
the work by direct action on the kid-
neys. Doan's Kidney Pills are for the
kidneys only and this a* counts for
their speedy and
certain action.
