One of the last bills to be final-
ly passed at the recent session
of the legislature was one creat-
ing a new judicial district in
Southwest Oklahoma.
The new district will be com-
posed of the counties ol Harmon,
Jackson, Tillman, and Swanson,
and will be one of the best in the
slate.
The bill passed with the emer
gency clause and therefore goes
into effect at once. The newdis
trict judge wilt be appointed by
the governor and of course there
are many applicants for the
place, among them being som6
of the best attorneys of the dis-
trict. At the present time how-
lever it seems that the Harmon
25 ooo oo j eounty candidate, Judge C. W.
King, liss by farr the best chance
for che appointment.
