Carter County, Oklalma.
It would seem to Mthat as cheap
as sheep are at this til? there should
be money in feeding tm. You will
find them a little mA wasteful of.
coarse fodder than c*|e; that Is.',
they will not eat up tf-kafir silage,
kaflr stover or hay so <^an as oattle
will. They, however. Ill probably
make a trifle better f<ri per ono
hundred pounds of feedtd. If you
should hive no trouble crosses dur-
ing the feeding period, I flleve that
you would make well feting sheep
I judge that if you buy thet from the
Fort Worth or other stockirds there
will be no danger of get\ng scab
If I were you. in buying I ould try
to get young, healthy sheeAof good

pdl aolor. it indicates that *tf>y are
hcflthy and probably aiacked
with some internal parasite. l\would
not buy that kind of sheep
All you need to provide by Ay of
shelter for the sheep is Sheds t<i pro-
tect them from the rain and coldest
winds. You will have to start tbfm
on feed carefullyT that is. start with
a ration of silage and hay without
grain for a few days, and then gradu-
ally start them on corn or kafir. be-
ginning with a few grains of corn
per head, and gradually increase the
grain ration. Corn and kafir may be
fed tinground to sheep. Cotton seed
meal may be fed up to one-fourth of
a pound per sheep daily.—W. A. Link-
later, Animal Husbandry Department.
MANURE LIBERALLY
The liberal use of barnyard ma-
nure for garden soil is almost indis-
pensable to the production of high-
class vegetables. Those who enircb
their garden soil * ith good manure
generally liave the satisfaction of
gathering choice vegetables. The
best way to have, plenty of nurture
is to keep enough animal*
