A large crowd was in attendance
and report a fine time. George Hum-
ber looked after the people from Gote-
bo and their horses in One style with
food and drink, which was duly appre-
ciated.

Gerhardt Sndermaan, bora June 1ft,
194ft, in Russia, died May 20, 1004, sged
58 yean, II months and 5 days. He
was married in his native oountry in
1874, and shortly after came to this
oountry. After living in various places
he came to Oklahoma in 1881, buying a
farm near El Reno, which he worked
until July of last year when he removed
to this plaoe, buying the Adams house,
which, under his management, became
a popular hotel. About six months
ago ths malady which oalled him home,
dropsy, attacked him, sines which time
he has bean confined to his room, al-
ways knowing that the cad was near
at hand. Owing to his ooodition he
gave up the hotel, exchanging it for a
stock of groceries aad the house in
which ho died.
Gerhardt Sudermann, owing to his
quiet ways, was but little known In
our city, but those whose fortune it
was to know him found him one of the
beat dtiaens our town ever harbored.
Ths faneral service was held San-
day la ths Mennonite brethren churoh
and was largely attended. The fol-
lowing ministers took part la the aer
vieee: Rev. Harmes, of Medford; Rev.
Voth, of Kaasaa; Dr. Richert, Rev
Maldcr, Elder Bills and Elder Bru
