The Farmers Do Not Have To
Register— But Republicans
Must Register in Cities of
The First Class
Guthrie Okla July 14 — “Only
in cities of the first class is it (nec-
essary for republicans to register
order to vote at the statewide pri-
maries on August 2” said Chair-
man Jim Harris of the republican
state central committee today in
urging a warning to republicans to
see that their names are properly
enrolled
“The farmers do not have to
register and in fact registration is
not required excepting in cities of
of the first class” continued Chair-
man Harris “and it behooves re-
publicans living in the cities to get
busy immediately and attend to
this important matter ' Let every
republican register and then keep
his registration certificate for it is
the only evidence that he will pos-
sess on election day that he is en
titled to vote The correct thing
to do is to pin his registration cer-
tificate to his tax receipt and take
both of them to the polls There
will be no doubt then but what he
will be entitled to vote and no
doubt about how he will vote
“Republicans must remember
that under the nefarious registra-
tion system born of democracy it
is necessary for each republican to
hunt up the registration officer and
get his name enrolled' Remember
above all things that the registra-
tion officer ftill not hunt you up
If it should be necessary £et out a
search warrant and run the regis-
tration officer down and get your
name on the lists
"Under the law the registration
officers should keep their books
open in each voting precinct in
citie of the first class during the
entire month of July All these
registration officers of epurse are
democrats appointed directly
downward from the governor and
it becomes necessary' therefore for
each republican to look after his
personal registration
