think that the republican county
ticket was nominated by the pop-
ular vote of the republicans, at
a primary election, thus enabling
each individual voter to select
from numerous aspirants for of-
fice, men whom he believed to be
the best fitted to discharge the
duties of the several offices.
The democratic county ticket
was selected by the few poil-
ticians, who gathered in caucus
and parceled out the offices among
their favorites, regardless of their
fitness or the desires of the rank
and file of the party.
Vote the republican ticket from
top to bottom and you will sleep
well knowing you have done your
whole duty.
