baker school next Sunday after-
noon at 3 o'clock and everybody
is invited.
Rev. Taggart, the presiding el-
der, will be here Friday and will
hold quarterly conference at the
church that evening. This is the
last quarterly meeting of the con-
ference year.
Miss Marie Troup's class was
the banner class last Sunday at
Sunday school for attendance and
Rev. Sampson's young m e ri ' s
class retained the banner for the
largest average collection.

Mrs. J.J. Donnell went to Mc-
Alester Sunday morning to visit
Mr. Donnell's mother and from
there she went to Ada to visit a
sister, and returned t o Geary
Sunday night.
A. B. Davis went to El Reno to
hear Eugene V. Debbs, the great
Socialist speaker. M r . Davis
said there was a good crowd out
in spite of the rainy day.

There will be a special program
consisting of music, etc., at the
hurch next Sunday morning at
*0 o'clock /and every member of
the Sunday school is urged to be
present and bring someone with
them. It is to be rally day for
the Sunday school. Every child
and all the parents of the children
who are not now regular attend-
ants at some other Sunday school
are very cordially invited to come
next Sunday and enjoy these
special services. The Sunday
school is a live one and growing,
and a most cordial invitation is
extended to everyone to attend.

ments of land and improvements-
Just as this family was sitting
down to breakfast on Sunday
morning a woman tramp came
along and was invited to eat with
the family. She was of stout
build and apparently between 50
and 55 years old. She claimed to
have come from, Cantonement
and was bound for El Reno where
she said she had relatives. It was
not a pleasant sight to see an oid
lady alone and so apparently
friendless.
Uriah Coil and wife, of Green-
field, were married on August 13,
1865. Their friends had planned {
to make them a surprise dinner,
on their golden wedding anniver-
sary, but owing to the adverse i
circumstances the plan was not
' carried out until September 26th.
On that date their many friends,
went to their home with great
baskets and boxes filled with good
things to eat and as the day was
an ideal one it followed that ev-
ery person present enjoyed them-
selves to the utmost. As usual
on such occasions, there were two
who tried to outdo each other in
eating chicken, cake and pie.
This time it was Gid Lehman and
Walter Urton and believe that
Gid got rather the best of it.
Gid's wife has been away for
some time'and so he felt no re-
