MADE GOOD
CITY OFFICERS
Public Should Appreciate Offer Strong Endorsement
Economical Officer, of Claud Leach
vaie.
Ed Baker lias made good.
There can be no possible ques-
tion of this. He has made the
most satisfactory county judge
the county has ever had. He has
given his time diligently and in-
telligently to the conduct of the
affairs of his office and has ac-
tually saved the county more than
$4,000 over the record of his
predecessor.
Does this $4,000 saved mean
anything to the voters? Do you
appreciate it when an officer
saves you $4,000 in taxes in a
single year? Don't you think it
is a record that men of all
uarties should point to with
nride? If you do show your ap-
preciation by giving him your
vote and your support next Tues-
dav.
The only possible criticism
that could be made of Judge
Baker is in regard to his leniency
with allowing prisoners to make
bond and we defy any one to
show a single case where this
leniency has not resulted in sav-
ing the county money. Would
you rather have the county put
to $300 expense in convicting a
habitual bootlegger, or save the
county the $300 by allowing the
bootlegger to leave the county
with the certainty that he won't
come back? Which is the cheap-
er? Which is the best for all
parties concerned?
Baker has never in a single in-
stance failed to gerve the best
interests of the taxpayers—the
men who elected him and he is.
asking re-election on this record..
If he is re-elected he promises a
continuation of his efficient, eco-
nomical administration of-the of-
fice of county judge. If you don't
know Baker personally you
should meet him. Or ask the
men who have had business . in
his court during the past two
years and see what they say of
him.
Serve your own best interests.
Vote for Ed Baker.
Dear Sir and Friend :
The intelligent people of
Blaine county, both from some of
I their past experience and from
proper appreciation of the im-
portance of the office, have made
a happy selection in the nomina-
tion of Claud A, Leach for sher-
iff.
j All the requirements for this
[office havfe been found in Mr.
i Leach in full and rounded meas"
ure. Three years since the peo-
ple of Geary elected him their
city marshal and the term of his
services show a record as fol-
lows: Amount turned to the city
treasurer in fines, $1627.50; the
bootlegger part of these fines
amounts to $830.50, which par.t
has been no expense to the city.
He has been placed in almost all
positions of responsibility that
call for faithful public service
and has never been found want-
ing. His ability is unquestioned,
his character and citizenship
■ ideal, his qualifications ample and
! sufficient to make his term of of-
fice the most useful and profitable
ever enjoyed by the good citi-
zens of Blaine county, and his
election in November shall be a
further tribute to merit and in-
tegritr in office.

For Treasurer
Bert Willis for county treas-
urer is one of the safest men on
the entire ticket. His long ser-
vice in the treasurer's office has
equipped him for the place as no
one else could possibly be
equipped. He has the office busi-
ness, the routine, methods and
system, thoroughly in his grasp.
His election is conceded * by
many republicans, and many re-
publicans have expressed their
intention of voting for Willis
next Tuesday. In this they can
make no mistake. Willis is a
young man of sterling worth and
ability. He has made good in
his present position, proving him-
self one of the most competent
officials the county has ever had.
If he is elected county treasurer
he will make good stronger than
ever and the county will be as-
sured of one of the most satis-
factory administrations this of-
fice has ever had.
Vote for Bert Willis.
Dirty Campaigning
For Court Clerk
Ed Taylor-is before the voters
asking for re-election to the of-
fice of court clerk. This office
takes on an added importance
from the fact that the office of
register of deeds has been con-
solidated with it, effective Janu-
ary 1. In Ed Taylor the county
has the most efficient man who
''as ever held this office in
Blaine county. Taylor is a man
of great clerical ability and has
a thorough grasp of the business
of the office from the fact that
he has already served one term.
If he is returned to the place
—a proble.n that appears to bp
: lmost a certaintv—he promises
another administration of the
•^ame fair and efficient service
♦hat has characterized his clos-
ing term. One satisfactory term

election. Mr. Taylor, however,
is seeking the place aeain strictly

handle the^ work more efficiently
and satisfactorily than anyone

To the Taxpayers and Voters of
Blaine County:
It has been brought to my at-
tention that my opponent in this
campaign has made mis-state-
ments in regard to a claim that
was made by me and allowed by
the board of county commission-
ers of Blaine county, for services
called for in the investigation in
; the Southerland and Emery case,
at which time I was appointed
special sheriff by Judge Brown,
sitting in the District Court of
this county, to subpoena wit-
nesses, jurors and all other spe-
cial work that was to come be-
fore that court. My work and
services were as follows: We
subpoenaed 83 witnesses and 30
! jurors. These witnesses were
subpoenaed from different parts
of this state, two from Lawton,
one from Anadarko, two from
Weatherford and one from Wich-
ita, Kansas, and the others were
from different parts of this
county. The _time I had to do
this work was ten days. My op-
ponent, Mr. Akins, is going about
the county misrepresenting ,the
facts in regard to this claim, say-
ing that I traveled 700 miles in
one day. This bill was "O. K.'d"
by Judge Brown, who was t^
judge on the bench at the time,
and at the time we had a repub-
lican majority on the board of

For County Clerk
To the Voters of Blaine County:
As a candidate for county clerk
of Blaine county, I am taking
this method of addressing a final
word to you before the election
next Tuesday.

I Any man will kn9w that these
700 miles were not .Jjraveled by
one man in one day, but was
done by the assistants or depu-
ties hired by me.
j I want to state further that I
entered this campaign with tlie
firm intention of doing or say-
ling nothing that would.cast re-
i flection upon the honesty or in-
tegrity of the present incumbent
and all that I want is that the
. voters know the real facts and
I judge me accordingly.
