property, do not put it off another day.

A short time ago we made an abstract for a gentleman
by which we found that his title was clouded-a total
surprise to him. He found that in order to straighten
it out he would have to have a quit claim deed. He ex-
perienced considerable difficulty in locating the proper
parties to secure the deed from, but finally they were
located and were glad to aid him in clearing his title.

A MAN IS WHAT YOU MAKE HIM
It Is a sin to educate a child to
steal, and then punish him for theft.
It is also a crime to permit young
children to form {he drug habit, and
later on punish them as dope fiends,
Ask any reputable and intelligent
physician—who has no interest in
drug store—and he will tell you that
today In this country the revolving
stools at the cold drink counters are
crowded with knee-breeches and dia-
pered kids, who are swallowing amaz-
ing quantities ot beverages calculated
to form what Is known as the "drug
habit."
It matters not how many "court
decrees" may declare certain drinks
harmless and not calculated to form
the drug habit." the fact remains that
they do—and today there are hundreds
of thousands of men. women and chil-
dren who visit these resorts, and call j
for the ."same old thing" with all the |
regularity the confirmed boozebuster
calls for his "straight whiskey." If
there is any difference between a
"whiskey fiend," and a "doi>e fiend,"
the latter is the most unfortunate,
and most to be pitied. There are In-
stances on record where apparently
confirmed drunkards have reformed,
but I would like to find just one real
dope fiend who ever voluntarily quit
swallowing the drug or hitting the
pipe.
Now I do not hope, or expect, that
this artic le will exert the slightest in-
fluence. so far as reforming any per-
addicted to the drug habit, or ln
diminishing the number of diapered
knee-breeches kids who climb upon
the high stools and yell "Gimme muh
Itoke— I jes' Gotta have muh koke."
It hasn't been a week ago since 1

of a wet nurse) and the handsome j

descendant of a careless and sap-head-

tion with this dispenser of modern
drug habit drinks, he said:

Is just as regular in calling for his
