The mission of the Oklahoma Historical Society (OHS) is to collect, preserve, and share the history and culture of the state of Oklahoma and its people. The OHS was founded on May 27, 1893, by members of the Territorial Press Association.

The Chronicles of Oklahoma is the scholarly journal published by the Oklahoma Historical Society. It is a quarterly publication and was first published in 1921.
Article is the journal of Alexander Posey as he works to identify "Lost Creeks" and "Snakes" for the Creek Enrollment Field Party of the Commission to the Five Civilized Tribes. His work allowed unidentified tribes people to gain access to protected land within the Creek Nation.
Article documents the career of Colonel Samuel Lee Patrick, captain of a Union Volunteer Infantry regiment and Indian Agent of the Sac and Fox, Shawnee, Pottawatomie, Kickapoo, and Iowa Tribes.
