Spiders can be very unpredictable creatures, Mary Karpinski,
zoology graduate assistant, said at a zoology seminar she gave
concerning her research with spiders.
Ms Karpinski has been working on her research of the reactions of
spiders to various disturbances of their webs since fall 1971. She is
working under the direction of Dr. Hubert Frings, professor of zoology
at OU. Ms. Karpinski said she hopes to finish her research this year.
During the winter there are no spiders to work with, she said, as
they hatch in the spring and die before winter At this time she is
correlating the data she has gathered
"One cannot stereotype the nature of spider behavior ’’ Ms
Karpinski said to about 50 people who attended the seminar. Her work
has been complicated by the uncooperativeness of some spiders who
refuse to build webs, she said.

or what the anti-abortion proponents termed the pro-
life" side of the issue.
Nix summed up the argument of the pro-life
proponents by saying, “There is no difference in the
fertilized ovum and a living human being. “The child is
as much a human being before birth as he is a human
being after birth," he said.
Karen Irey, an OU assistant professor of social work
and affiliate of the Oklahoma Abortion Action Coalition,
said, "No restrictive law should take away the right of a
woman to control her own body, and no woman should be
forced to bear a child against her will."
