he became enthused with the work,

captain of his company gave him af-
ter-dni .hours inst.-uction and mixed
with this a liberal dose of physical
culture. The captain and this soldier
lad. who vowed that he too will be a
captain before the vtr is over if hard
work and close application will turn
the trick, kept steadily at it. The

home in Chelsea on a short furlough.
His physical improvement was greet-
ed with astonishment and surprise and

sired. He prayed for chickens. The
prayer received no response. No

The next day he accosted the pastor

should have asked the Lord to send
