years if tbe proper effort is put

Indian Territory has given an.
other evidence of the fact that she
is ready for statehood. A gang of
boodlers have been indicted at° Ard-
more.
Don't forget tbat the night fol-
lowing the Fourth will be tbe regu-
lar inectiug of tbe commercial club.

cellent dinner wus prepared for the

Billy Deuiack's show arrived in
town the last of the week, this
being their third visit here.
Mike Hundrick and sister, Lizzie,
left Thursday for a visit with
friends in Colorado.
Mirf Ellen Sunday is visiting
relatives in the country this week.
John Etter and wife, of Vera,
visited J. C. White and family
Monday and Tuesday.
L. J. Snarr shipped a car load of
hogs to Kansas City Wednesday.
John Jones has bought the two
houses here owned by Baden, of
Independence, Kansas, and will En-
large and otherwise improve them.
Mrs. Ed Sunday was down to
the county seat last Saturday to
have some dental work done, but
her courage failed her when she
arrived there and she came home
without having anything done.

An ordinuiice in relation to the disturbanueH of Iho public pence and
providing a penalty fur the name.

Claremore, Indian Territory.
Suction 1. Ifnnv person shall wilfully or lualicioiiNly dieturb,
either bv day or ni<ht, ihe r.ice and ipiiet of the town of
or any person or family therein, by loud or unusual noise, or abusive,
violent, obscene or profane language, whether iiddresned to the party wo
disturbed or some oilier person, nr by tlirentning to light, quarrelii.u
or challenging to light, or lighting or shooting off any lire-arm* or
brandishing the same, or by running niiv horse at unusual speed along
any street or alley, or by alarming falsely any person or persons by

• Skc. 2. If two or more persona slinll assemble together for the
purpose of disturbing the peace or committing any unlawful act, and
not disperse ou being desired or commanded mj to do by the Mayor or
any officer of the town of Claremore, all person* so offending shall, on
conviction thereof, be fined in Buy sum not less than ten dollars nor
more than twenty-live dollars.
Skc. 3. If any person shall make use of any profane, violent,
abusive or insulting language toward or about another person in his
presence or hearing which language in its common acceptation is cal-
culated to mouse to anger the person about or to whom it is spoken or
addressed or cause a breach of the peace or uu assault, every such per-
sou shall be deemed guilty of a breach of the peace and upon convic-
tion thereof shall be punished by a fine of not less than five dollars nor
more than twenty-five dollars
Skc. 1. Any person who shall commit simple assault upon another
unattended with any apparent design to commit homicide or felony shall
upon conviction of any person thereof bo punished by a fiue of not to
exceed twenty-five dollars.
Sec. 5. All laws, oidinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
with this ordinance is hereby repealed und this ordinance shall be in
full force and effect from and" ami after its passage and publication.
