Ex-Gov. Bob Taylor, of Tennessee,
has the following to say of W. Powell
Hale, who appears at the opera honse
Mouday night for the benefit of the
public school library fund: "To those
who wish to spend a pleasant evening,
I commend this 'Rising Star.' "
The ball New tfears night was one of
the most enjoyable and the largest balls
ever held in onr city. There were a
number of grotesque costumes, a large
number of the dancers being masked.
The promoters of the affair have every
right to be proud of their efforts.
Mrs. A. K. Osment received word
this week that her brother, Winston
McNa bbhad died at the old family
home at Cleveland, Tenn. He was
clerk of the circuit court of the county,
and according to the paper published
there, stood high in the community,
being elected as a Republican in a
strong Democratic county.
At the annual meeting of the library
association Saturday the following of-
ficers were elected for the ensuing
year: President, Mrs. A. W. Linn;
vice president, Mrs. J. M. LaHay; sec-
retary, Mrs Nell Ross; treasurer, Mrs.

Neal Ward wishes ns to state that
during this week a brown pony came
to his stalk field, nine miles east of here,
aud that the owner can have the same
by coming and getting it and paying
for this advertisement. The pony, be
thinks, is about 10 or 12 years old, and
had a cheap saddle on it, and a pig pen
brand bad been cut on it with a pen
knife.
M. W. Clift. of Wakeeny, Kansas,
the new clerk of the court here, arrived
this week and assniued the duties of
bis office. While we are strictly a home

powers that be have wilied that another
than a home man shall fill the office,
we heartily welcome him to onr city
and wish for him a pleasant stay in onr
midst.

Is in a class by itself. Serious
and sometimes fatal results at-
teml the slightest mistake ou
the part of the druggist.
Therefore, the conclusion
must be, that the man who
tills your prescription, should
be familiar with the character
of every drug that, goes into a
prescription, upon which pos-
sibly, the life of a person de-
pends.
Every prescription that is
/illed in our sMre receives our
personal attention, and the
greatest precaution is used in
its compounding. No matter
how simple or how difficult it
may be.
