Oklaboma Press Assonatioi
The editor took a day off Fri-
day and attended the annual
meeting of the Press Association
Leaving here on the 2 o’clock
train Thursday we arrived in
Oklahoma City at 6:30 and spent
the night in that metropolis
Oklahoma City is the wonder
of the Twentieth Century it is a
live booming city and one
only has to be there a few hours
to become thoroughly embamed
with the spirit
If she dont gel the State
Capitol it will not be the fault of
its citizns
During the evening we met
the Governor and his wife and
our fellow citizen the next At-
torney General Clint Graham
There were so many of the
state officials there that we got
them all mixed up
We left Oklhahoma' City at
6:10 via El Reuo arriving there
at 9
The press headquarters were
at the Loewen Hotel and the
business meetings were held in
the Opera House
The day was a most enjoyable
one and we were sorry that im-
portant business at home called
us away so soon
On the return trip we came by
Gurthrie spending most of the
night there landing in Marietta
bright and early Saturday morn-
ing The crops are in fine shape
and indications now point to
immense crops this year
Lindsay says: “In dealing with
the problem of crime in youth we
shall make progress just in pro-
ixirtion as we appreciate the ab-
surdity of limiting our remedies
to the court the jailer and the
hangman Our plea for public
playgrounds is a plea for justice
to the child We have no right to
deny it its heritage that of play
The child will hit back and hit
hard Why shouldn’t lie r el tel?
He does not mean to Children
who are not given a chance to do
right have a way of doing wrong
The purchasing of these grounds
should 1 well considered We
should hav$ ample room for the
mothers and baltes (the small
hammock sand pile etc) the
child of 8 and io the wading pool
swings games or play space the
youth must have a variety both of
games and gymnasium equipment
We should have ample space for
scats and many other things e
cannot expect to have a vvell-
equipped playground at first but
f rbm the exerienced committees
we learn that where you have am-
ple space this in itself helps to pr
cure aid
