The recent rain assures a wheat

start. Everything is looking pros-
perous for the farmers of Lone Elm
I see Mr. Chalfant is going to
make a city park at the pump staion
This is a good idea as it will give the
IH'ople a place to have an outing with
little expense to get there. Spencer
A. Stephens stated that he and Mr.
McGough would give three feet of
the road on the half-mile line between
sections 2 and .1 running north to the
pump station. If this road can be
gotten free it seems that the city of
Claremore should take advantage of
this offer as it would give the public
a high dry road to the pump station
and park without any high water to
stop public travel. Let everybody
boost for the River Park as it will be
a great boost for Claremore.

Prof. Holland was in Catoosa call
ing on old friends and looking after
lected as they are malting good
roads in both of their townships and
having bridges and concrete culverts
put in wherever needed. They can't
do all of the needed improvements in
a week or a year, as it is hard to get
steel for bridges on account of the
present war. So let everybody get
behind our commissioners and help
them make for Rogers county the best
roads in the state of Oklahoma. Rog-
ers county, with the Verdigris river
and its various creeks, of which there
are at least one hundred, must be
bridged on have culverts put over
them on the section lines. This takes
money and time to this work as re
quired under the road laws of Okla
homa.
