into the collar and decided to put
Hallett on the map propei.
At a in.iss meeting of tiie busi*
• e>s men some ten days ago, a
committee was appointed to ar-
range a program of entertainment!
to be held heie las' Saturday, to
which we wish to ti. nk the com*
mittee for their grami success they
attained from their efforts.
The first thing on the program
was tiie largest load of people any
one would bring to town in one
vehicle, to which Duty Ward te
ceived the prize, bringing 5i prople
to town in one wagon.
The several races was won by
both town and country people umi
created quite an exciting time for all
The base ball g.ime between the
little kiddies and a pick-up nine
of grown men was real interesting
ami was won by the larger team
The pie supper at night in the
Cox building was also a grand
success, there being a large crowd
in attendance', and the pies netting
the n a sum of $i6,65
The entertainment tor the com
mg Saturday afternoon will be
found elsewhere in this issue of tne
paper. We need not go into detail
and desciibe tlit coming program
as you well know wlien Halkt.
puts on anything it is going to be
the best,
The one main fe.iture of the
ptogran next Saturday will he the
extra price paid by the ineichanti
f ji butter and eggs, be sure and
read the bill elsewhere in this is«ue
and find out what the extra price
will be. Also bear in mind thai
we are going to give one of those
orential parades, something of the
uncommon tor this part of the
slate, don't fail to be here and
witness this feature of the attract-
ions. The Necktie Box Supper is
m novelty in its way and is some
thing rarely tried by towns twice
th# size of Hallett. The way this
is to be done is that the girls will
all wear neckties of different de
signs and colon, then there will be
(mother tie that will be sealed up in
an envelope to match tin- tie some
girl is wearing, instead of bidding
on the boxes and buying them you
buy the envelope «ed then hunt up
the tie to match the one you get in
the envelope, Be sure and be here
and take part in this pail of the
program. The girls in the coun.
ry are especially invited to come
and bring a box.
