The i.iclement weather last Sat-
urday did not hinder a fair-sized
crowd from attending the play
"'Squire Tompkins' Daughter."
Nor did any of the actors fail'to
act their parts to the full apprecia-
tion of a small but enthusiastic
audience.
This play will be reproduced on
Saturday night, March 33.
We desira to apoligize for the
briefness of our news items this is-
sue as we had considerable job
work. Notwithstanding that he is
to witness the happy meeting of
his wife. Mrs. Dennison, with her
brother, Walter Harris at Jennings,
after a parting of t8 year*.

are visting with Mr. Smith's moth-

Nominated Officers
A Mass Meeting of the qualified
voters of the Town of Hallett was
held Tuesday night' for the purpose
of selecting candidates for CoanciN
men and Marshal.
J. W. Mosely was elected chair-
-man, and Leo B. Smith secretary.
It was moved and carried that a
Citizen's Ticket be nominated.
L. N. Kimrey introduced the fol-
lowing resolution Which was adopt-
ed:
Be it resolved, by the qualified
voters of the Town of Hallett, tha
the officers be nominated in the fol-
lowing manner to-wit:
That the clerk make a list of the
qualified voters desiring toj vote,
and that when voting for a nomina-
tion the clerk call .the roll and that
eacl) voter write the name of the
person for whom he desires to vote
for 011 paper and deposit same in a
box prepared for that purpose,
when his name is called; and that
the chairman appoint three counters
to cast up the result of the vote.
The following candidates were
nominated:
Ward 1, V. W. Wilox.
Ward 2, J. C. Pease.
Ward 3, C. S. Bell.
Martha!, Harry J. Boteu.
The meeting voted to allow L.
N. Kimrey for tervices rendered to
the town.
