Miss DeWayne Brown is visiting
with her grandfather, Mr. Ward, in

Mrs. R. W. Armitage and Miss
Bculah Watkins visited in Jennings

Miss Graves of Cleveland visited
in Hallett Wednesday, the guest of
Mrs. J. C. Watkins.
Miss Jettie Powell of Avard is
here visiting her sister Mrs. L. B.
Watts.
Miss Amie Kendall has been in
Blackburn for the past week assist-
ing in the central office.
A great deal of interest is be-
ing taken in the coming election,
and candidates are seen ^011 every
corner.
The machinery for the Farmers
& Merchants Cotton gin arrived
yesterday and will be installed next
week.
David Hoffman of Stree'er, Illi-
nois, visited Hallett last week.
Mr. Hoffman said he was here two
years ago, just at the time the town
was starting, lie expressed him-
self as delighted with the growth
that Hallett has made in so short a
time.

J. O. Kilgore of Fayetteville,
Arkansas, visited Hallett this week.
Mr. Killgore expressed himself as
well pleased with the progress of
Hallett.
The greater part of Hallett's cit-
izens took a trip yesterday and en-
jpyed fishing in the Arkansas.
They all report a fine time and lots
of fish.
Work is progressing nicely on
the two-story residence of W. V.
Wilcox. This will be one of the
nicest residences in town when com-
pleted.

Notice is hereby given that an
election will be held in the town of
Hallett, state of Oklahoma. 011 the
26th day of August 1910, for the
purpose of voting a twenty year gas
franchise for the said town of Hal-
lett to the Lewis Industrial Com-
pany. Polls will he open at 9:00
o'clock a. m. and close at 6:00
