Hallett Merc. Co.. has just re-
ceived a car of "Pride of Perry"
The commercial club has its coat
off and sleeves rolled up.
Factories are lining up for Hal-
lett in a most gratifying manner.
Nearly 1,000 dozen eggs were
brought into Hallett today, Satur-
day.
Mr. Waters of Blackburn was at
Hallett yesterday looking for a lo-
cation for a poultry ranch.
Hallett meichants are paying
more for eggs than any merchants
in the county.
The music club will meet every
Wednesday evening at the Chris-
tian church everybody invited to
attend.
Mr. Hoover's store building is
complete all but the interior work.
He will open up with a new stock
of goods within a few days,
The High School building for
our consolidated districts is now ut-
most in the minds of the citizens of
the district.
Mrs. Chas. Kendall and daugh-
ters, Misses Amie and Almn, spent
the lirst of the week in Pawnee vis-
iting with relatives and friends.
The enormous quantitities of
eggs bought at Hallett is indication
of the great increase of business
since the opening of the big store
here.
Part of High Grove district
wants to consolidate with our con-
solidated district. Good for High
Grove. Come 011 in, the water's
fine.
Prof. Leo. B. Smith has secured
an election call in his district for
the purpose of consolidating with
this and number 49, which
a move in the right direction.
Another letter from the Kansas
brick rami to the commercial club
is to the effect that everything is
moving along favorably to the loca-
tion of the $100,000 brick plant at
Hallett.
R. Winkler and J. S. Carpenter
of Wheatland, Iowa, are in Hallett
today looking at the new town and
country. Th ;y purchased some
lots here and want to trade for some
more in block 21.
J. E. Mason returned from a
three weeks trip into southern Tex-
as, Old Mexico and the Gulf
country a few weeks ago and then
paid the northeastern part of Okla-
homa and western Arkansas a
week's visit.
The school election polls closed
early enough that we can give the
full results. C. H. Funkhouser
was elected director, S. R. Moore,
treasurer and C. S. Bell, clerk.
The vote was taken for and against
tlie location of the school building
in block 63 in the town of Hallett,
47 voted yes and seven voted no,
making a majority ot 40 votes fav-
oring Hallett as the location.
This election was of more interest
than any held since statehood as
the two districts voted together,
The main street was so full of
wagons, hacks and buggies that it
was h ml to pass through.
The Hallett Meicantile Com-
pany brought over 600 dozen eggs
from their rural customers today.
Miss Atha Little, who has been
visiting relatives and friends in
Cleveland for the past week, re-
turned home today.
Farmers are rushing in and out
of town like so many bees. They
visit the shops with tools to sharpen
and the stores for seeds and im-
plements.
Those who h;ive tried alfalfa
glowing in the vicinity of Hallett
are increasing the acreage every
season. Three to five tons to th ;
acre and ten dollars per ton is easy
money.
Mrs. Wm. Taylor left Thursday
for Moore where her sister, Mrs.
Mary Applegate, is dangerously
ill. Mr. and Mrs. Taylor received
notice of her illness while at Aiap'
aho where they were visiting their
two daughters. Mr. Taylor was in
Hallett today.
W. J. Barr a builder and con-
tractor of Griuneli, Iowa, arrived
last week accompanied by Mr.
Nelson, another builder. Mr. Ban
received a car load of lumber this
week and the two are erecting a
nice story and a half residence
with stone basement on Mr. Barr's
lots and when complete will erect
a similar building on Mr. Nelson's
lots.
B. L. Gillaspie, who has been
conliued to his bed with a broken
ankle, is slowly mending under the
diligent care of his family and
fiiends. Considering the serious
nature of this fracture his improved
condition is very gratifying to bis
friends. Later: He will be taken
to the Oklahoma City Hospital to-
morrow and will be accompanied
by Dr. J. C. Watkins.

here this week and asked for a lo-
cation for his corn sheller, feed
mill and grist mill. He will prob-
ably select a site 011 the Frisco
side of town opposite the new gin
which will be on the 4,Katv". Mr.
Watts says there lias been 81 sh ires
of $25.00 each sold fot the new cot
ton gin.
