CAHD SPECULATOR SAYS HIS
SCHEME WOULD NET NEW
STATE 110,000,000
MUSKOOEB: "if the new state of
Oklahoma would give oil leases on its
puUlo highway* H oan create n fund
«f 110,000,000. I know of one mile
of road pa which I would give |I50,-
000 for aa oil l4ase." This statement
wns made by C. M. Bradley of this
city, one 6f the best known land spec-
ulators In Indian Territory.
Mr. Bradley'a idea la a bran new
one and It is eausing oil men to sit
-up and take notice. Ten million dol-
lurf to 4 public road fund, nnd in a
atate that ftanda In dire need of road
money, la something to be considered.
To have oil wells driNed along the
road side of n plec* of toad that is
proven oil territory Is nlao something
. that will flU wHh alarm the lessees
of the laad. An oil well In a alxty-foot
roodway would draw It* oil rrom laad
on both aides of the road.
OU men have been to Mr. Bradley
to protest agalnnt the publication ot
hla plan. His reply haa been, "Stand-
ard Oil owns nlne-tentha ot the oil
producing land nnd leanea In the ter-
ritory anyway, nnd of course the
Standard will fight It It will burt no
one eljpet. and. 110,000,000 would build
good ronda in thin state which would
be n benefit to every person."
There Is a road on every section
line. Where n section -line runs
through proven oil territory n lease
would be very vnluable. It Is a mile
of such road running right through
the Glenn pool on which Mr. Bradley
aaye he would give the state a Quarter
of a million for n lease.
