Injured in the Mines
G. B.' Hewitt was injured while
working in the mines-shaft No.
1—Tuesday.afternoon, He and
W. H. Cooper were working in
shaft which is now down to a
depth of about H« feet. The uien
were drilling and tigiog for a
blast and got thirsty and called
for water. C. M. Sparks and
Charley Price had been drawing
the mineral out with a team, and
Mr. Spark* had gone over to the
other shait about a quarter dis-
tant and, Charley attempted to
let the water,down himself. He
placed the pail .of water in the
large bucket used for drawing
out the mineral and started to
let it down. In some way it came
unhooked and fell to the bottom,
