Dear Sir;-
We certainly do not agree
with you in the matter of con-
solidated schools as put forth in
your article headed "The King
of Tuscaloosa." We are of the
opinion that such a school as you
advocate would be a very expen:
sive proposition as well as a very
unhandy way for Mia jfctroaa

Old Farmer Jones.
There are some men who dig and delve,
While others win the prUes;
The fellow now who'1 takes ths cake''
Is he who advertises.
Old Parmer Jones had pigs to sell,
And so had Brown his neighbor;
The both had spent much time and thought,
And lots of good hard labor.
Browu sold his pigs for ready cash,
And rode behind his flyer;
But Farmer Jones was blue because
He didn't have a buyer.
The aecret of this difference
I'll tell to make you wiser;
Jones would not pay for printer's h>K -
Brown was an advertiser.
