Darwin Lone Elk
Funeral Services
To Be Friday
Funeral services for Darwin
Lone Elk 32 years of age are
planned for Friday afternoon at
2 o'clock in the Indian church
near Hammon Plans are incom-
plete due to the awaiting of re-
latives from New Mexico Hom-
er Hart local Indian minister
will be in charge ofthe Military
funeral service
Lone Elk was fatally injured
in a car accident in Elk City Sat-
urday evening at 7:45 when it
is reported that he ran into a
car driven by Tom D Elliott of
Elk City on Highway 66 in front
of the Hunter Laundry
He was taken to a hospital
where he died at 9:20 from a
fractured skull I
It is reported that the accident
was unavoidable and no charges
will be filed against Elliott
Lone Elk leaves his wife and
three children They live at the
Indian Camp north of Hammon
He served in the Army in the
Pacific during the war days and
participated in several major
battles
His obituary will be in next
week's issue of the Advocate

school Christmas program en-
titled ‘‘Christmas Around The
World” Children from grades
one through twelve will be par-
ticipating Act one is in Santa’s
Toy Shop featuring the primary
department Act two is centered
around the high school choral
clubs presenting the music of the
many nations as Santa narrates
the trip Costuming dances

of the various nations visited will
be presented by both the Junior

Mr Jayroe will take his Fresh-
man Oklahoma History Class to
Oklahoma City next week to visit
the Historical Building and the
Capitol This class is looking

Estella Walker was born No-
vember 10 1888 at Hozen Ark
and departed this life November
19 1947 at the age of of 59 years
and 9 days in an Elk City hospi-
tal She was married to Lewis F
Walker of Hammon on July 8
1906
She was a member of of the
Church of God
She is survived by her husband

System Completed
The new street lighting project
for Hammon was completed
shortly before the Thanksgiving
holidays according to H W
Dow local manager Forty ad-
ditional were installed in the bus-
iness and residential districts
The work was done by the
Public Service Company Con-
struction Crew assisted by Mr
Dow '
The new lighting system is a
great improvement over the old
one and places Hammon among
the best lighted towns of Western
Oklahoma
Members of the town board
and the other citizens of Ham-
mon are deeply grateful to the
Public Service Company for their
fine co-operation in making it
possible for the securing of this
civic improvement
