Typhoid Drive.Endn
(By Dr. A. R. Lewis, State
Health Commissioner.)
With about half the state cov-
ered, I am reluctantly fored to
abandon th« anti-typhoid cam-
paign instituted July 1st by the
state department of health. All
the money available has been ex
hausted and there is no way to
obtain more at this time.
Hewever, most of the southern
counties where lies the chief dan-
ger have been covered and many
in the central tier. Towns
which have drives started will
complete tkem. Thousands of
persons who knew nothing of the
life-saving value of typhoid vac-
cine have been immunized
against the disease for at least
two years.
Although the state depart-
ment has exhausted its resources
for fee distribution of the vac-
cine, you who are able to pay
and the cost is small- should get
a supply of your druggist and
have your family physician ad-
minister it.
Remember that heat of sum-
mer is the worst typhoid period.
Remember also that a case of in-
fluenza after a siege with ty-
phoid is almost sure to be fatal.
You can't take chances with dis-
ease this fall gud winter.
