-' Mrs George Sturgeon died at
her home near Lyons' Sunday
night Death was caused by
blood poison from having a tooth
pulled by a dentist in Hennessey
Funeral services at the Cimarron
Valley Church where the remains
were interred
J C Smalley and wife returned
Wednesday from Kansas where
they had been for the last five
weeks on account of the illness
of Mr Smalley's mother They
had the misfortune to lose their
baby aged about 17 months
while they were gone
Mr H Norwlne died at his
home three miles south of Ames
last Sunday evening February ix
He had been sick since last fall
with cancer of the liver Funer-
al services were held at the house
Monday after which the remains
were laid to rest in the cemetery
north of town He leaves a large
family to mourn their loss
Thursday eve Feb 15 being
the third wedding anniversary of
Mr and Mrs Robert W Sasseen
a number of their friends sur-
prised them in good shape bring-
ing baskets well filled with good
things to eat Those present
were Jesse Qlvey and wife John
Lewrlght and wife Mrs Amanda
Lewright Mrs Mansur FredHo-
gard and wife Frank Morrison
and wife Will Patton and wife
and Ollie Ballard All enjoyed
the occasion Immensely
John Jones’s team ran away
Monday They started toward
home from the east part of town
and when they got over by Char-
ley Bowman's the doubletrees
came off and left John standing
there In the wagon The team
ran ia at Charley's and straddled
a large apple tree breaking it off
and upsetting one of the horses
stripping it of the harness all but
the collar They then ran over
the garden fence up by the house
