Entered as second-class matter
Nov 7 1903 at the post office at
Atnes Oklahoma under the Act
of Congress of March 3 1879
Statehood William is safe
Senator "Graft” Burton has diS'
missed his private secretary
The Senator’s business is a little
slack just now
Illinois is after "Standard Oil
too Missouri is having such fun
that the other states can’t stay
out of the game
They are thinking of creating
forty new Justiceships in New
York What they need in the
Empire state is fewer justice1
ships and more justice
Everybody knows how hard it
is to get evidence out of the
standard oil crowd Mr Rogers
has admitted that he knew his
own name and had actually heard
of Standard Oil If be doesn’t
look out Rockefeller will fire him
for talking too much
Although the statehood bill has
passed the House there is much
yet to be done before we can be-
come a full-fledged state The
bill must pasg the Senate and be
signed by the President then we
will be ready to begin to make
the legal part of a state which
will take several months
J P Renfrew of the Renfrew’s
Record threw some hot shot into
the camp of the republican Woods
County officers lasfweek It is
getting along to’'‘Vd election
time and if there aAany rascals
holding office in this - county we
will be thankful to Mr Renfrew
for pointing them out If our
county officers or any part of
them did actually make a false
report of the population of this
County thereby increasing their
salaries it is time the grand jury
is getting in session and a few
indictments brought in The peo-
ple are getting very tired of the
cry "thief! thief!” Let’s have
some of the rascals proven guilty
in court then we’ll know that it
is not merely political hot-air
