Alcohol begin* to regret that
its other name in booze.
Do not complain of your wife's
extravagance with a cigar in
your mouth.
Just what has been whisky's
contribution to civilation, any-
way?
Some of the early garden truck
seems to have been raised on a
bycicle pump.
America did not start it, but
America takes pleasure in htlp-
ing to the finish.
Perhaps the most expensive of
cars is the freight cars that are
not on hand to move the coal.
Among otheis the drug store
"blind pig" is doomed to go.
$ven a blind pig ought to be
able to read the handwriting on
the wall.
Pershing will probably be too
busy to miss his old friend Villa
over there.
It is hoped that all the Ameri-
can war boards will ret their
internal quarrells settled before
the big drive.
Villa has been injured ayain
But he seems to thrive on tli<-tn.
The cables carry reports of
fights and riots among the So-
cialists at Stockholm. The us-
ual fate of a peare meeting.
Of course those who tied to
Mexico to a void registration will
have no conscientious scruples
against calliner upon this gov-
ernment for protection in case
Villa decides to entertain them.
It was told byoneof our young
bloods who has recently embark-
ed in the dry goods business that
a yogng lady went intothestore
this week and asked him if he
had "any o' those elasic bands
capable of being elongated and
adjusted at plasure, and used by
the feminine portion of mankind
for putting around tne lower ex-
tramitiesof thir locomotive mem-
bers to keep in the proper posit-
ion and the required altitude
habiliments of thir tibias," The
clerk is contemplating gosng on

The weather is fine now aad
everyone is wanting to go lone
place. It is a fine change for a
person, both mentally, physic-
ally, socially and religiously,
after spending six days at labor
to go to church and change the
run of youJ thought for a short
time at least.
We have a good Sunday school
and church services are good.
Why not try it once, and every-
one go to church on Sunday any
way. It would make a better
citizenship, a better community,
a better state, a better natioa
and a better world is all the pro-
pie would recognise a Sabbath
for rest and worship.
You hear a gieat deal said
these days about war and ho\%
th stop war, but true religioa it
the onlp opposite of war. One
of the best places to g«t true re-
ligion true religion that I know
in the house of Gad, thechurch.
Come oae, come all, rich or
poor, high or low, great or small
and we will do our best to do you
good. We give you a cordial
invitation to attend oil our ser-
vices. Our services were good
Sunday, good crowds and good
interest w«s manifest. The
trip to Munice was a pleasant
one. There was a good crowd
out and service- were rood.

A Nerasla girl in packing
eggs, wrote her name on one of
them. Away off in California it
fell into the hands of a young
man, who immediately started a
correspondence. Last week he
packed his trnnk and came to
Nebraska to claim his bride.
This is believed to be the first
time in the history of Nebraska
that an egg ever hatched out a
wedding. But don't be surpris-
ed at anything in Nebraska.
