eral from which commercial zinc is
extracted, it is extremely rich in
the product, the minimum value

ton, while the greater portion wilj

it exceed in richeness even the
fannius mines around Joplin, Mo,
Working but a short time,' a
small party with only mining tools
used by hand took out a ton of the
valuable mineral one day last week.
The sulphide is found* between a
wall of granite and lime and the
deposit apparently is a large „ne
covering a very extensive territory.
It also is thought that lead ore
will be found iu paying quantities
under the zinc, making the section
easily one of the richest in a state
where nature has been lavish in her
distribution of mineral wealth.
Saturday night the editors were
given a gridiron banquet at the
Turner hotel. It was a feast of wit
combined with good things to eat.
The bars were thrown down after
the cigars. The "please court"
stunt put on by the Muskogee Press
club made a hit.
Most of the visitors left for their
homes Sunday night, and every one
was lngh in his praises of Musko-
gee, declaring that the entertain-
ment provided here was the most
elaborate of any gatherings ever
