CANTON, BLAINE COUNTY, OKLAv, DECEMBER ISM.
NO. SO
Obituary.
Edgar W. Osborne, son of
Isaac F. and Elizabeth R.
Osborne, was born Nov. 25, 1878,
and departed this life Dec. 10,
1911.
He was married to Ethel
Hanley at Caiton, Okla., May
3, 1908, to which union was
blessed with two children who
preceded him. He is survived
by his wife, father and mother,
three brothers and four sisters.
The deceased was well known
in Blaine, Major and Dewey
counties and was loved and re-
spected by all who knew him.
He was a kind and loving hus-
band and an honest and indus-
trious business man.
While his death was sudden
and seemingly cruel—God alone
knows why he was thus sudden-
ly taken from his friends and
loved ones. How he is missed
by his household!
"The boatman's fate" with
his priceless freight has crossed
to the other shore where the
white sailed vessel has cast
anchor and set fres the spirit
long fettered by the house of
clay.
All that love an4 medical
science could do was done to
relieve his suffering and stay the
ruthless hand of death, but the
Master had need of him, and
while loving hearts are sad and
lonely, their grief is sweetened
by the fond anticipation of a
happy reunion in a land where
tears and heartaches are forewfr
unknown.

Optra House Collapsed. | N^O-T-l-t-E. j
During the snow storm Tues-1 By the consent of the Board of,
day night Talboy's Opera House'County Commissioners, I have
collapsed. The building was extended the payment of the
48 feet wide and the .oof w..s first half of the 1911 Tax to
self-supporting und constructed ! t ebruary 1st, 1M2. I> t e hr. t
of 2x4 lumber which was not halt'is NOT i>u;d by l'ebruary
strong enough to withstand the 1st, 1912 the same becomes de-
strain of the heavy snow and linquent and will draw interest
with a crash the roof fell in at j from December 1st, 1911 in ac-
about 2 o'clock. The entire t cordance with House Bill No.
west end of the building fell 1274 of the 1911 Session Laws,
outward and laid across the J.J.Morrison,
sidewalk. The roof over the I County Treasurer of Blaine Co.
stage did not fall in, as the
extra supports made a strong
support.
It is doubtful if the building
will be rebuilt, and it will be
some time before Canton will
have another opera house. A
good opera house, suitable for
public gatherings is something
that Canton needs, and it is up
to some enterprising citizen to
come to the front and supply the
need.
But the Record would admonish
ye that when ye view the festive
bird afloat in a puddle of gravey
in the centre of a groaning table,
bedecked with green alfalfa, for-
get not thy limited ^astronomical
ability lest ye be numbered with
the "big eyes'-club.
Heap Big Snow.
Monday night this * locality
was drenched with a good rain.
Tuesday morning the rain turned
to snow and it continued to fall,
great big, juicy flakes, until
yesterday morning.
There was about eight inches
of snow on the level and probab-
ly six inches fell and melted
before the ground was covered.
This snow is what has been
needed the past three years and
means that droughths have gone
glimmeriug and a bumper crop
next year. Rah! for the beauti-
ful snow.

Business
Success
contains no black art. There is
nothing mysterious about it. Men do not make for-
tunes by what is called luck. It is obtainable by
legitimate methods, at the command of every one.
The suecesslul business men are invariably men
who started depositing their savings in the days of
their youth and who made a habit of doing business
with the bank. Without the bank's service and help
man remains small in a business way
If you are not a customer of this bank, let this
be your invitation to become one, lor your banking
business is most respectfully solicited.

fairly We try to treat everybody that way. BUT if
y„u have never given us a chance, we really want to
show you what we can do for you. We can't please
