in marriage Sunday afternoon
The marriage vows were read
at 2 o’clock in the home of the
Rev A B Carson pastor of the
Cement Methodist church who
read the vows in the presence of
members of the two families
For the ceremony the bride
chose to wear a two piece after-
noon dress of pastel rose wool
with a matching halo hat and short
veil and accessories of black Her
corsage was of gardenias
Mrs Turley attended and was
graduated from the Cement high
school and was graduated from
the Oklahoma College for Women
Chiekasha with the class of 1942
at which time she received her
B S degree Since her graduation
jhe has assisted in the drug store
of her late father
Cadet Turley was graduated
from the State Teacher’s college
Edmond where he received his
B S degree and previous to his
entrance into the army he was a
teacher Mr Turley is now sta-
tioned at the school of meteorology
at the University of Chioago
Following a short wedding trip
Cadet Turley will return to Chi-
cago und Mrs Turley will resume
her work in the drug store until
her husband complete his train-
ing course in the spring

Mr and TVIrs L H Shaw Hy-
dro announce the marriage ol

Shaw and Cpl Hillary A Meyers
of Fort Bliss Texas which was
an event of December 22
The ceremony was performed in
El Paso Texas with Dr Yearby
pastor of the First Baptist church
there officiating The only at-
tendant to the couple was Sgt
J E Westover also of Fort Bliss
For the ceremony the bride
wore a dress of navy blue and
white
Mrs Meyers was graduated from
c? Eakly high school with the
clasri of 1942 and for the past
few months has been employed
in Lawton Corporal Meyers is
the son of Mr und Mrs Alex
Meyers of Norman He attended
school at Washita and was grad-
uated with the class of 1940
The couple is now making their
home in El Paso Texas

The double ring ceremony was
read by H W Cubeen in C’hick-
asha in the presence of a numbci
of out-of-town relatives and
friends
The bride given in marriage by
her father chose to wear a navy
blue sailor ensemblu with which
she wore a necklace of yellow
gold a wedding gift from her sis-
ter For something borrowed she
carried a small white Bible be-
longing to Mrs Charles Cox of
Amarillo Tex und covered with
a lovely cluster of gardenias
Mrs Thompson the bride’s
mother wore a dress of navy blue
with a corsage of pink Carnations
Mrs Roberts file bridegroom's
mother wore a dress of black and
white crepe with which she wore
a corsage of orchid chrysanthe-
mums Mrs Roberts was graduated
from the Woodward high school
and atte-nded the Woodward Jun-
ior college where she was presi-
dent of the Freshman class and
was prominent as a student For
the past six months she has been
employed by the Great West Mills
company Amarillo Tex
Private Roberts attended the
Cement high school and prior to
entering the aimed tmces tom
months ago had been employed
in the Cement oil fields for the
past two years by the Gerald M
Young Drilling company At pres-
ent he is stationed at Camp Hul-
en Tex
After spending the Christmas
holidays with the bridegroom’s
parents Private Roberts returned
to his station and Mrs Roberts re-
turned to Amarillo Private Rob-
erts is a brother of Leonard C
Roberts formerly of Anadarko
For traveling Mrs Roberts wore
a costume suit of dark brown
trimmed with cream and gold with
which she wore brown accessor-

Mr and Mrs J Forrest West of
Grinnell Iowa left today to re-
turn to their home after visiting
during the holidays with Mr

of music at Grinnell college
