Entertains with Bounteous
Dinner and Quilting Bee
Mrs Dobrlnskl entertained with a
quilting bee Thursday Nov 5th at her
home south of Shattuck At the noon
hour 27 guests and the family gathered
wound the long dining table in the
spacious dining room the hostess re
f-xumed thanks for the occasion Such
- a least the dinner was a kings table
: Six chickens had been killed for the
occasion and were served with noodles
: and butter dumplings and all the
airlmmings The occasion will long be
' "remembered by the following guests
who spent the day quilting for the

present Thursday afternoon when the
aid society met in the basement of the
church There were about 40 members
present The afternoon was spent In
quilting and hooking on a rug after
which a delicious lunch was served

There will be regular work aid
today In the church basement
Bible Study Visiting Occupies
Missionary Society’s Time
The Baptist Missionary Society re-
ports an unusually good meeting
Thursday afternoon with Mrs J
Mark Duncan hostess Members en-
joyed the usual Bible Study with Mrs

of the social hour

Prettiest Girl In
Baptist University
Shawnee Okla Not 12— Miss Eliza-
beth Curb formerly of Shattuck Okla
won the election for the honor of
prettiest girl In the Oklahoma Baptist
University it was revealed Saturday
evening at the Harvest Festival final
event of Homecoming day at O B U
Miss Curb was the victor In a spirited
contest in which Miss Cathalene
Cravey of Shawnee was her opponent
As Is customary Bison favorites were
chosen in a studenf election but the
results were kept a secret until the
formal presentation of the winners at
the Harvest FestiaL
Miss Crab also played another im-
portant role In the Harvest Festival
as ar newly chosen member of the un
iverslty women's quartet The quartet
has appeared la a number of pro-
grams since their selection and have
been shown marked favor at all ap'
pearances
Selection as prettiest girl is not the
first honor which has come to Miss
Curb since she enrolled In O B U
Last year she was elected by a large
majority to be Queen of the Fresh-
man class and presided in the annual
Homecoming parade She is a member
of the university Choral club the
Mrs Latta Rev and Mrs Fleming
were additional guests The Blue’s prov-
ed to be royal entertlners to the win-
ning side
