- The Board of County Commissioners of Lovo County Oklahoma met
in their regular session with E G McKinney Chairman J A Fleming and
C L Clark members present and transacted tile following buaineaa:
The minutes of the meeting of January 7th 1918 was read and ap-
proved The petition of J S Wheeler for the appointment as Janitor of tho
court hbuaa and yards it was agreed that the application bo approved on
tho following conditions: That tho board of Commissioners are to pay
tho said Wheeler the sum of (6500 per ftionth to April 1st 1918 and to
pay the sum of $7500 per month to and including November 15th 1918
The application of G It McKee for help from the county for C E
Biggs was allowed the amount of $1000 for the month of February 1918
and issue an order on Freemun Bros Co
The extension of the Depository bond of the Marietta National Bank
in the sum of $11500000 with the Maryland Casualty Company as surety
was approved
The affidavit of erroneous assessment of A R Knight on personal
j property for the year 1917 to-wit: Value $13500 St 32c C & T $181
total $372 was by the board allowed and the County Treasurer issued a
certificate of cancellation
j The application of 1 L Hall to he relieved of further liability of the
bond of J L Dowell as constable of Burney Township was approved and
he is relieved of any further obligation on said bond
The affidavit of erroneous assessment of the County Treasurer on the
personal assessment of J W Alexander for the year 1917: Value $10000

reasons that the assessor in taking his assessment only made an allowance
of $10000 he being an old soldier and entitled to an exemption of $20000
the county treasurer was issued a certificate of correction in the above

road district No 4 Burney Township together with his bond in the sum

ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
RESOLUTION of the Commissioners of Love County State of Okla-
homa passed and approved on tbe 6th day of February 1918
WHEREAS according to the requirements ©e Chapter 238 of the Ses-
sion laws of Oklahoma 1917 an appropriation of one million dollars hns
been made by the State of Oklahoma - for the purpose of aiding in road
construction in each county in the State of Oklahoma and
WHEREAS in order to participate in the benefits derived from the
expenditure of such fund it is required that each County through its
Board of County Commissioners shall make formal application to the State
Department of Highways agreeing to the terms and provisions of the law
referred to
NOW THEREFORE be it resolved by the Board of County Commis-
sioner of Love County State of Oklahoma that the Department of High-
way be and it hereby is requested to file this as the application of such
County for participation in such fund for aiding in the construction of
State Roads and that this County agrees to all the provisions of sqch
till and that Love County hereby seta aside in its construction account
for fiscal year ending June 30 1918 the sum of Six Thousand Five Hun-
dred ($650000) Dollara to be administered as provided in said law and
that said County agrees to be bound by and to obey all rules and regula-
tions for the administering of such fund that may lie prepared by the De-
partment of Highways and to pay on or before the 10th day of each month
all claims approved by the Commissioner of Highway for expenses of ad-
ministration during the preceding month provided that in no case shall
i-uch expense exceed three (3) per cent of the funds available in pursu-
ance of the provisions of said Chapter 238 Session Laws of Oklahoma
1917
The said Board of County Commissioners agrees that the Excise
Board of Love County will lie called upon to adjust the estimates and ap-
propriations of ruch County to meet the requirements of said Department
of Highways and that said County will only participate in such appro-
priation to the extent that such adjustment of estimates herein referred
tc are made bv said County Excise Board
IN WITNESS WHEREOF the said Board of County Commissioners
of I-ove County State of Oklahoma has caused this Resolution to be
spread on its minutes and signed in duplicate by the members of such Board
and attested by the signature and seal of its County Clerk on the day and
date firt above set forth
