paper:
A message was recelvei Saturday
by relatives here announcing the
deatn of Mel Jacobs at POnca City,
Oklahoma The body will be brought
to this city for burial and is expected
to arrl-e t-ere today. Burial will be
in Stafford cemetery.
Tbe memory of tbe erratic Mel
is still fiesb in the minds of Stafford
people, for It Is but a short time since
he was one among us. And Mel's
career in this community was suffi-
ciently spectacular to attract notice
and retain a hold on the memory.
ihe message announcing Jacobs'
death was brief, but alon* with it
there came a rumor in regard to th„-
manner of hl demise. Persistent et-

to Its source without avail. However,
It btars the *tamp of probability.
