Ponca City Oil, Gas and Mineral com-
pany. It having'been generally un
derstood that the company was prac
tically ont of debt this report comes
as oomething of a surprise and is
causing considerable discussion. Not
being Informed as to the financial
condition of the company at this time,
this paper Is unable to maice any sat-
isfactory statemeut, but its columns
are open to any person or persons
who may be in position to do so. It Is
plainly apparent that the large num-
ber of stockholders should be Inform-
ed as to the exact condition of the
company, and if It is found that the
company cannot handle the gas prop-
osition it should get out of the way
for somebory who can. There has
been a strong sentiment in favor of
permitting the home company to
handle the proposition, and is yet for
hat matter, but It appears that the
time has come now when sentiment
must give way to business, as it gen-
erally does in the world, and the city
council, now divided on tbe question
of franchises, should act promptly for
the best interests of the city.

Tbe Woaderful Air Skip.
For centuries Inventor* have stud
led over two of the greatest problem*
that ever racked the brains of maa.
One Is perpetua' motion, tbe otber a
practical air ship. The former la yet
in embryo, but the latter has been
perfected aud ita practicability la
demonatrated twice daily w.th the
Pawnee Bill's Historic WiidWestand
Great Far East which will be bete
oext Saturday, September 10. Newa
that one had been perfected bad
acarcely leaked out before Pawnee
Bill dispatched one .of hia agents to
the inventor with Instructions to pro-
cure it no matter what the expense
might be. Notwithstanding that a
score of other amusement promoter*
were on the groand tbe offer m tde by
Pawnee Bill's representative was too
tempting to be refused. He has had
no occaaion to regret the outlay, for
tbe thousands who have since seen it
in Its dally flights have unanimously
proclaimed it to be the mo« marvel-
ous piece of mechanism ever con-
structed. It is not an air ship on ex
hibition that the versatile lecturer
tells you about what it can do, but in
its daily flights through space il
demonstrates what #n can do.
Two daily voyages are made by this
colossal passenger air ship from the
great arena, and the skeptical will
be given an opportunity to test its
buoyancy and propelling power. It
is not a balloon, but the one perfect
air ship which sails into the very
teeth of the winds and makes it as
easy to navigate the air as the earth
and even safer than water naviga-
tion.
In order to get this gigantic air
ship through tbe country two special-
ly constructed cars whose combined
length l« 120 teet were built and to
carry the air ship from tbe train to
the exhibition ground*, no less than
XI horses, on wagons used for no otber
purpose are neces ary. In addition
to this Pawnee Bill has bad built a
huge gas engine for inflating pur-
poses. Taken in its entirety this
maatodomic triumph of mat's in-
genuity ia a complete exhibition in
itself, but with the Pawnee Bill shows
It is but one ot the many features It
Is the o ily air ship carried by any
amusement enterprise and tbe only
one ever made that gives two daily
demonstrations of its perfection.
